ABOUT

Lake Area Recovery Club is a center of support for those on the path to recovery.

Our Purpose & Mission

The Lake Area Recovery Club is a 501-C3 Non-Profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and their families in recovery.  We offer a safe and sober environment collectively based on the principles of 12 step recovery programs.  Through activities such as meetings, fellowship, educational activities, and social events.  LARC strives to enhance the lives of people in recovery and the communities in which they live.

The purpose and plan of operation of the Lake Area Recovery Club is to provide, operate, and maintain a facility as may be deemed necessary or desirable by its members for the comfort, convenience, welfare, and entertainment of its members.

HISTORY

Our Club was founded in January 2010 and meetings began in March 2010. The original founders of the Club wanted to establish a facility where many 12-step, self-help recovery meetings could be held on a daily basis. They foresaw that if they opened a Club, meetings could be held without any restrictions seen in locations where you are renting a room for a precise day and time.

Our founders opened the Club with a mission statement that reads, “To provide a safe, sober environment for individuals and their families seeking recovery.” While the original founders are no longer Board Members our mission remains the same today.

We are currently at our third location which is within the Franklin Center at 201 N. Griffith Blvd. The entrance to our section is thru Door H which is on the Broad Street side. Additionally, our work with area Police departments has allowed us the opportunity to relocate to a public building with convenient parking and great visibility.

LARC has a long-term goal to purchase a property and operate as a stand-alone community recovery center. As a 501c3 non-profit organization, we rely on generous contributions from individuals and corporations alike to continue our mission.
